Europe's easiest app to save and invest in Bitcoin effortlessly.

Company Profile

Rebuilding Finance Around Bitcoin

Bitstack is a Paris-based fintech company on a mission to democratize Bitcoin savings and help Europeans preserve their purchasing power amid rising inflation. Founded in 2021, the company has rapidly grown to serve over 300,000 users who have collectively saved more than €300 million in Bitcoin. The core product is remarkably simple: it rounds up your everyday card purchases to the nearest euro and automatically invests the spare change in Bitcoin. Backed by Y Combinator and top-tier European VCs, Bitstack recently secured a $15M Series A to expand its offerings into a comprehensive crypto-native consumer bank, complete with a French IBAN, euro accounts, and a VISA debit card that rewards spending with Bitcoin "Stackback."

A Culture of Ownership and Inclusivity

Built by Bitcoiners and ambitious operators, Bitstack fosters a culture driven by results and customer-centricity. The team is small, highly experienced, and operates with a high degree of autonomy. Transparency and inclusivity are core values—not just in how the product is designed for everyday people, but in how the team collaborates. Whether working remotely or from their hub at Station F in Paris, the focus is on moving fast, sweating the details, and creating a financial product that users genuinely love.

What You'll Actually Do

Working at Bitstack means building the infrastructure that bridges traditional consumer banking with the Bitcoin protocol. Engineers will tackle challenges related to scaling a high-volume transaction system, integrating with the Lightning Network, and ensuring bank-grade security and compliance under the strict MiCA regulatory framework. Product managers and designers focus on keeping the user experience frictionless, translating complex crypto concepts into intuitive features like automated round-ups and seamless fiat-to-crypto conversions. It's a fast-paced environment where your code and product decisions directly impact how hundreds of thousands of people interact with their money daily.

Compensation & Benefits

Bitstack offers competitive salaries tailored to the European market, with the added upside of equity in a fast-growing, Series A stage startup. While exact equity grants vary, base salaries are transparent: Software Engineers typically see €75K–€100K, Senior Engineers €100K–€130K, and Engineering leadership roles up to €150K. Product and Compliance roles range from €55K to €85K depending on seniority. Beyond base pay, employees enjoy flexible working hours, remote work options, 100% employer-paid health insurance (a significant perk in France), monthly team activities, quarterly offsites, and, naturally, free access to Bitstack's premium features.

The Interview Process

While specific interview rounds are not exhaustively detailed publicly, candidates can expect a streamlined process typical of YC alumni. It generally starts with an initial screening call to assess cultural fit and alignment with the company's mission. For engineering roles, this is followed by technical assessments that test practical problem-solving skills and system design capabilities, rather than just abstract algorithms. The final stages usually involve meeting with the founders and key team members to ensure mutual fit, focusing on your ability to thrive in an autonomous, high-ownership environment.

Why Join / Why Not

Why Join: If you are passionate about Bitcoin and want to build products that make a tangible difference in how everyday people manage their wealth, Bitstack is an incredible platform. The recent $15M Series A and MiCA license provide a strong runway and regulatory clarity for rapid European expansion. You'll get to work on hard technical problems with a talented team, enjoying both the flexibility of remote work and the vibrant ecosystem of Station F.

Why Not: Bitstack is not for those looking for a slow-paced, highly structured corporate environment. The crypto industry is inherently volatile, and while Bitstack focuses on long-term savings rather than trading, the regulatory and market landscape requires constant adaptation. If you prefer working on established legacy systems rather than building new financial primitives from the ground up, this might not be the right fit.
